The Van Gogh at work exhibition runs from 1st of May 2013 until 13th of January 2014. The Van Gogh Museum naturally offers the broadest collection of paintings of perhaps the most famous painter in the world. This specific exhibition zooms in on Van Gogh’s creative processes and techniques.

Van Gogh at work boasts more than 200 letter, sketchbooks, paintings and works on paper from the master. More than 7 years has been spent on preparing the exposition and it will give you a great insight in how Van Gogh worked. It showcases his evolvement from a beginning painter to a unique artist with a broad range of masterpieces. Learn which brushes and what type of stroaks he used.

The Van Gogh at work exhibition displays paintings and works from all over the world. A great example is his only surving palette, which came from the Musée d’Orsay in Paris. Or what about two different version of the famous Sunflowers painting side by side.

As part of who Van Gogh became and the timeless art he created, you’ll also be introduced in what inspired the painter. See the works that Van Gogh himself valued from artists such as Gauguin, Monet and Bernard.

2 May to 1 September 2013: daily 9 am – 6 pm, Friday 9 am – 10 pm.
2 September to 26 December 2013: daily 9 am – 5 pm, Friday 9 am – 10 pm.
27 December 2013 to 5 January 2014: daily 9 – 6 pm, Friday 9 am – 10 pm.
