The Dutch Theatre Festival is probably the most prominent among theatre events in The Netherlands. The festival showcases more than 20 of the very best Dutch and Belgian productions of the past year. Always carefully selected by both a authoritative jury panel and the audience. Various shows are surtitled in English, so there is no language barrier is you don’t speak Dutch.

The locations of the Dutch Theatre Festival are the beautiful Stadsschouwburg and Theater Bellevue on Leidseplein. These theatres are a treat in themselves to visit. Another location is the Krakeling childrens theatre. Here, you will find theatre especially for the little ones.

Aside from major Dutch theatre shows and children’s entertainment, the Dutch Theatre Festival also has workshops and masterclasses for both experienced actors and the curious layman. Be sure to check these out if you are interested in the beautiful art form of theatre.
