Canal Festival Prinsengracht

A music festival in the canal ring of Amsterdam is surely an unique event and, especially if you’re in to classical music, a can’t miss activity when you’re in town. There are nearly 80 different locations where concerts will be held in little over 1 week. The Canal Festival has a chique and high class feel with locations such as luxury hotels like Hotel De L’Europe and Hotel Okura. Other prestigious locations include the Scheepvaartmuseum and De Groote Industriele Club (Large Industrial Club) on Dam Square.

The high light of the Canal Festival is the concert on the Prinsengracht. Here, the Royal Dutch Orchestra will perform and it is yearly attended by the Queen. This is the 16th edition of the Canal Festival. About 50.000 people visit the festival each year. Many locals visit the festival by boat, and moor their boats next to the stage.
