The Buddhist Film Festival features movies and documentaries around buddhism and Tibet. For most of the movies it’s the first time their on display in The Netherlands. This is a unique chance to watch movies and documentaries from a more spiritual perspective. It will get you a good overview of buddhism and Tibet too. This year’s theme is Nature and Nurture.

This year is the eighth edition. Sixteen different movies are on display. It starts Friday evening with Samsara.  A nice piece of audiovisual poetry that examines the link between man and nature.

Examples of great movies on display on Saturday are Olo, the Boy from Tibet and Escape from Tibet. Sunday features a long list of documentaries. Our favorite is An Uncommon King, a story about Mipham Rinpoche, a Tibetan spiritual king who seeks to end violence in the world. His lifestory, how he had to follow in the footsteps of his father who was a famous meditation master, how he thinks about society and conventional wisdoms.
