Amsterdam Halloween Festival

Halloween is not the most traditional of Amsterdam holidays. But if the people of Amsterdam Spook have anything to say about it is one of the best of the year. This year they organize the 4th edition of the Amsterdam Halloween Festival. The festival takes place from the 25th to the 31st of October.

With 8 different events and the Scarytales halloween party, this festival still claims to not be the biggest, but the bloodiest. And bloody it is! One of the things we admire most about this festival that the theme is taken in so many directions.

There are, for example, multiple events on the canals and the rivers of Amsterdam. Take a dinner cruise in Halloween style and a special tour on the most scary of Amsterdam canals. There also is a halloween partyboat with zombie crew and performances. This is also a great way to travel to the Scarytales Party.

For the more active Halloween enthousiasts there are a costumed skating tour and run. Run around in the city of Amsterdam dressed like you just came from the graveyard.

There are also workshops, and of course a big movie marathon with Halloween themed movies. This is held in the beautiful and historical Tuschinski theatre. Not only the grown ups get a proper dose of horror flicks, the children have their own lighter version with various movies on display.

The core of it all remains the Scarytale party. The 13th edition of this night takes place in the Felix Meritis, a large canal house on the Keizersgracht.

Even if you are not a halloween enthousiast this festival is great to go to. The boat tours are very special and the party rocks! It is a good way to see Amsterdam from a somewhat different perspective. Get more information about the Amsterdam Halloween Festival here.
